Thirukanitha dates, Lahiri ayanamsa · why a Vakya almanac can differ

These are Thirukanitha dates, computed from the sky itself in the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa. The Vakya panchangam that many temples and newspapers follow works from older tables. Its date for the same move can differ by days, and at a retrograde crossing by months, because the two disagree about which pass of the boundary is the move. Some sites publish Western tropical dates, which for Jupiter fall about four months from these and for Saturn over a year. If a date you have seen differs from these, that is almost always why.
